Pro 1/5: Infuses more than 1,300 ppb of hydrogen into your water
The first reason the Piurify Hydrogenator is the best is that it does what it says it can do and infuses regular tap water with more than 1,300 parts per billion (ppb) of hydrogen water.
It does this using proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis, which is a chemical process that uses electricity and a special membrane to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water molecules. PEM electrolysis is an improved version of the traditional electrolysis that allows for the production of ultra-high purity hydrogen. This high-quality form of hydrogen is then infused back into your water for you to consume. Using PEM electrolysis allows for higher concentrations of hydrogen into your water, which increases the potential antioxidant capacity of hydrogen-rich water.
This means that if you want a hydrogen machine that will produce enough hydrogen to combat aging and disease, you should get the Piurify Water Hydrogenator.
Pro 2/5: Built-in filter removes chlorine and preserves hydrogen
The second biggest upside of the Piurify Water Hydrogenator is that it removes chlorine and chloramine from your water using a filter that also preserves your hydrogen-rich water.
It does this with the included calcium sulfite filter, which is a chemical substance known to react with chlorine and chloramine and remove them from water. Few other hydrogen water machines include this step, an omission that reduces the overall quality of the water they produce. Including this feature also makes the hydrogen water generated by this machine last longer. The reason is that chlorine will react with the extra hydrogen molecules in your water, removing the hydrogen and leaving a potentially dangerous substance in its place. Since virtually every city water supply in the world has chlorine in it, the inclusion of this filter makes this hydrogen machine stand out.
The Piurify Water Hydrogenator will also remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from your water thanks to its vortex aeration. This is a fancy way of saying the machine spins your water, creating an air tunnel that speeds up the vaporization of VOCs and forces them out of your water. No other hydrogen water machine includes this feature and it’s something that really helped it stand out from the competition.

The third biggest pro of the Piurify Water Hydrogenator is that it uses a pitcher design that can hold up to 1.5 liters (just under a half gallon) of water.
The vast majority of hydrogen water machines on the market use a water bottle design, which is great for portability and also because they can produce higher concentrations of hydrogen (see next product on my list). But they only produce around 8–12 oz. of water at a time. You don’t need to drink hydrogen water all day to be able to enjoy its benefits, but the size of this pitcher means you can generate the water once or twice and that will be enough for your entire family.
This means that if you want a hydrogen water pitcher that is large enough for everyday use and can meet the needs of both an individual and a family, you should get the Piurify Water Hydrogenator.
Pro 4/5: Special features allow for customization and ease of use.
The fourth pro of the Piurify Water Hydrogenator is that it includes several special features that allow for customization and ease of use.
The first special feature is the option for “standard” or “high” hydrogen protection. The “standard” mode will result in water with around 700–900 ppb of hydrogen and takes just eight minutes. The “high” mode will boost hydrogen production to more than 1,300 ppb and takes around 14 minutes. The benefit here is that if you don’t have time to wait for full hydrogen infusion, you can select the “standard” option and get hydrogen water faster.
The next special feature is the self-cleaning mode. This should be done after every 10 uses and takes just a few minutes. All you have to do is fill the pitcher with water and push the “self-cleaning” button on the front of the device. During this process, water is flushed through the calcium sulfite filter to flush out any trapped contaminants. When the machine is done, you need to remove the filter and rinse it with tap water. No other hydrogen water machine on the market has this feature and it ensures the water you drink is as clean and hydrogen-rich as possible.

Pro 5/5: Lifetime Warranty
Hydrogen water machines offer a lot of promise when it comes to improving health. But if they don’t work, you can’t experience these benefits. And since these things are not exactly cheap, buying something that breaks in a year or two is pretty much the worst-case scenario.
This is why the biggest upside of the Piurify Water Hydrogenator is its lifetime warranty.
Hydrogen water machines are still quite new, and the market is saturated with absolute junk. For example, virtually every product you find on Amazon is not worth your time, and the best warranty you might find is one year. The Piurify Water Hydrogenator, on the other hand, is backed by an industry-best lifetime warranty because it’s built to last and does what it’s supposed to do. And in the event something does go wrong, Piurify has got your back and will make the situation right.
This means that if you want to buy only one hydrogen water machine in your life and buy it from a company that stands by its products, you should buy the Piurify Water Hydrogenator.

The Piurify Water Hydrogenator is an excellent product but it has two major drawbacks:
Con 1/2: Not enough hydrogen for intense exercise
The first downside of the Piurify Water Hydrogenator is that while it infuses water with 1,300 ppb of hydrogen water, this isn’t really enough to make full use of hydrogen’s anti-inflammatory potential.
The scientific community has yet to come to a full consensus on just how much hydrogen should be in your water and just how much of an effect it has. But a number of studies, including this one conducted by researchers at the University of Extremadura in Spain, found that drinking water with 1,900 ppb of hydrogen can help in anaerobic exercise and improve performance. Unfortunately, this is considerably higher than what the Piurify Water Hydrogenator can produce. However, the 1,300 ppb of hydrogen is still an effective dose for antioxidant purposes.
This means you can still experience the benefits of hydrogen water using the Piurify Hydrogen water machine. But if you want to use hydrogen water to aid your exercise regimen, you may want to look at the next option on my list.
Con 2/2: Filter does not remove heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, and other contaminants.
The next downside of the Piurify Hydrogen Water Machine is that the included calcium sulfite filter does not remove many of the other contaminants that are possible or even likely to be in your water.
It’s designed to filter out chlorine and chloramine, but if your tap water is contaminated with heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, disinfection byproducts, forever chemicals, etc. this unit will not remove them. The best thing to do is to test your water, or, if you use city water, you can contact your local water authority to see what’s actually in the water you drink.

The Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle is the best portable hydrogen water machine for the following four reasons:
Pro 1/4: Infuses water with up to 3,000 PPB of hydrogen
One of the biggest reasons the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle scored so highly in my ranking is that it infuses water with up to 3,000 ppb of hydrogen in just 10 minutes.
It does this using polymer exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis, which is the same method used in the Piurify Water Hydrogenator I chose as my #1 choice for this review. It’s an improved method of electrolysis that helps produce hydrogen that is 99.99% pure, which is then infused into the water for you to drink. By infusing your water with up to 3,000 ppb of hydrogen, the Hydrogenator outperforms every other competing product on the market, including the Hydroh bottle, a popular product that has a max infusion of just 1,300 ppb.
It takes 10 minutes to infuse water with 3,000 ppb, but if you’re short on time you can select the five-minute program, which infuses your water with 1,600 ppb of hydrogen.
This means if you want to get the most amount of hydrogen into your water so you can recover faster from workouts and experience the anti-inflammatory effects of hydrogen water, you should get the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle.

Pro 3/4: Made with high-grade durable plastics
The third biggest upside of the Piurify Hydrogenator is that it is made from high-quality materials that are built to last.
There are a number of less expensive versions of this device on the market. But not only did they not pass our tests in terms of hydrogen production, they also fell short in terms of build quality. The plastic used in the Hydrogenator is commercial food-grade plastic, meaning it’s scratch resistant and dishwasher safe. Most of these less expensive models are prone to scratching and warping and will likely need to be replaced after one or two years.
This means if you want a high-quality water bottle that also infuses your water with higher levels of hydrogen than any other hydrogen bottle on the market, you should get the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle.
Pro 4/4: Comes with a lifetime warranty
A hydrogen water bottle like the Piurify Hydrogenator is designed to help you take advantage of hydrogen water (and gas) so you can live healthier and potentially longer. But if it breaks after a year or two, then it’s not really all that useful. And considering these things aren’t cheap, the last thing you want is to have to keep replacing these bottles every other year or sooner.
That’s why perhaps the biggest selling point for me on the Hydrogenator bottle, and the reason it ranks so highly on my list, is that it comes with a lifetime warranty. This says to me that the company has built something that will last, and if something does go wrong, they will have your back and make it better.
I was somewhat appalled by how cheap and poorly made the many hydrogen water bottles you can find on Amazon are, which explains why none of them offer more than a one-year warranty. In a world where things are made to break and be rebought on a cycle, Piurify took a different path and made something you’re going to have for a long, long time.
All of this means that if you want a hydrogen water bottle that comes with industry-leading company support and commitment, you should get the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle.
CONS
I must mention two major drawbacks of the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle:
Con 1/2: Only holds 280 ml of water
The first downside to the Piurify Hydrogenator is that it only produces and holds 280 ml, or approximately 8 oz of hydrogen water.
The company itself says you should drink between 500 and 1,000 ml of hydrogen water per day to experience its full effect, and also that you should drink the water right after it’s been infused with hydrogen. To be able to use this bottle and get this quantity of hydrogen, you will have to run the electrolysis process two to four times per day. And since it takes 10 minutes to infuse the water with 3,000 ppb, that can add up to a substantial amount of time just to produce the water you need to drink.
It can be easy to work around this if you plan ahead. For example, after your workout, fill the bottle and turn it on. Then jump in the shower. When you’re out, the water will be ready for you to work. But this might not be realistic for all of you.
All of this means that if you’re looking for an all-day solution, the Piurify Hydrogen Water Machine I chose as my #1 recommendation is likely going to be a better solution.
Con 2/2: Does not filter water
The other con of the Piurify Hydrogenator is that unlike the larger pitcher model ranked #1 on this list, it does not filter water in addition to producing hydrogen.
The unit is simply too small and would no longer be portable if it were to include this function. The solution is to make sure to fill the water with filtered water, either from a pitcher, from your fridge, or from your tap if you use a whole-house water filter.
This is one of the tradeoffs for having a smaller unit that is portable and also capable of producing more hydrogen. For athletes and those of you who live life on the go, this might not be a major concern. And most of us have made it this far drinking water from our taps. But if you’re looking for a hydrogen water machine that will also filter and purify, then this may not be the hydrogen machine for you. I would look at the Piurify Water Hydrogenator Water Machine ranked in the top spot on this list.
OVERALL: 9.1/10
The Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle is my #2 overall recommendation and my top choice for a portable hydrogen water machine because it infuses water with an industry-best 3,000 ppb of hydrogen and also includes a nasal cannula for direct inhalation of hydrogen gas.
It’s true that it holds just over 8 oz. or 280 ml of water, but this is fairly standard for this type of product. On the flipside, it does come with an industry-best lifetime warranty.
If you want to infuse your water with the most hydrogen possible and access your hydrogen water while you’re on the go or at the gym, then get the Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle.
Best Premium: Tyent H2 Hybrid (8.7/10)
The Tyent H2 Hybrid is my #3 recommendation for hydrogen water machines and my top choice for a premium option because it produces hydrogen and alkaline water, filters most city water contaminants, and comes with a lifetime warranty. But it costs a small fortune.

The Tyent H2 Hybrid ranked so high on my list and is my choice for the best premium hydrogen water machine because it lives up to its claim and is able to infuse water with up to 1,800 ppb of hydrogen.
It does this using polymer exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis and titanium and platinum plates. It’s true this is not as much hydrogen as smaller hydrogen water bottles are able to infuse, but it is still more than enough to allow you to take advantage of the potential positive health impacts of hydrogen water.
This means that if you want a hydrogen water machine capable of delivering antioxidant rich hydrogen water with anti-inflammatory properties, you should get the Tyent H2 Hybrid.
Pro 2/5: Dual-stage filtration removes most city water contaminants
The second positive aspect of the Tyent H2 Hybrid is that it is also a filter and removes a wide range of city water contaminants.
It does this using dual-stage filtration. The first stage is a .01-micron-rated sediment filter that removes sand, dirt, dust, clay, etc. from your water. The second stage is activated carbon, which will filter chlorine, chloramine, VOCs, PFAs, herbicides, pesticides, and many other city water contaminants. This is a better filter than the one included in the Piurify Hydrogen Water Machine that’s ranked #1 on this list because that filter only removes chlorine and chloramine but is not effective against these other contaminants.
This means that if you want a hydrogen water machine that can double as a filter and remove the vast majority of the contaminants in your city water, you should get the Tyent H2 Hybrid.
Pro 3/5: Produces alkaline and hydrogen water
The third pro of the Tyent H2 Hybrid is that it also is a water ionizer, aka an alkaline water machine.
In addition to infusing your water with hydrogen, the Tyent H2 Hybrid can also adjust the pH of your water. It does this also using electrolysis, but this part of the water treatment process takes place in another chamber from the PEM electrolysis that produces the hydrogen gas. This is how the Tyent H2 is able to produce both hydrogen and alkaline water. While scientific evidence is still somewhat lacking, there are some initial studies that suggest it can help fight disease by neutralizing the acid in your bloodstream.
If you want to experience the potential benefits of both hydrogen and alkaline water, you should get the Tyent H2 Hybrid because it can do both.
Pro 4/5: Provides endless hydrogen and alkaline water
The fourth noteworthy upside of the Tyent H2 Hybrid is that it provides you with endless hydrogen and alkaline water, unlike the majority of its competitors, which all treat a limited amount of water, from 8–32 oz, at once.
It does this by connecting directly to your water supply line. After you choose your settings, indicating your desired pH and hydrogen levels, all you have to do is turn on the machine’s dedicated faucet and the water that comes out is infused with hydrogen and adjusted to the exact pH level you want.
This means if you don’t want to bother with refilling a pitcher or bottle, or you don’t want to be limited by the size of your machine, you should get the Tyent H2 Hybrid.
Pro 5/5: Lifetime warranty
The Tyent H2 Hybrid does a lot of things, and it does a lot of things well. But it’s also very expensive. If you do decide to go with this hydrogen machine, I can see why, but the worst possible scenario is that you shell out several thousand dollars on a machine like this and then it breaks on you in a few years. Fortunately, this won’t happen, and Tyent has you covered if it does.
That’s why, for me, Tyent’s lifetime warranty is one of the biggest selling points of the H2 and why it’s on this list. No other premium machine I looked at came close to offering this kind of commitment to the product. The closest thing I found was a six-year warranty. I also like that this warranty covers everything, including parts, labor, and shipping. This way, if by some fluke something does break, you can go back to Tyent and they will take care of the issue with absolutely no cost to you. This is the type of service I would expect from anyone selling this type of machine, but Tyent is the only one that actually provides it.
All of this means that if you want a premium hydrogen machine that is effective but also comes with the full support and warranty of the company that made it, you should get the Tyent H2 Hybrid.
CONS
The Tyent H2 Hybrid has one notable downside:
Con 1/1: It costs a small fortune
The most obvious con of the Tyent H2 Hybrid is its price tag.
While the price varies depending on the time of year and what promotion Tyent is running, you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000–$5,000 for this unit. That is a ton of money for a hydrogen water machine, even if it does do a lot more than just infuse your water with hydrogen.
This is why it did not rank higher on the list. For most people, a more affordable option, such as the Piurify Hydrogen water machine, will be more than enough at just a fraction of what the H2 costs.
If you want these extra features and aren’t scared by the price tag, this is a high-quality product that will help you take control of your water. But if you are looking for something with a more accessible price point, I would look at the Piurify options that are ranked #1 and #2 on my list.

It boasts a range of features, including a DARC II Cleaning System for automatic cleaning after every use, a real-time flow rate control system for optimal water flow, and an auto-adjust power feature for efficient performance.
The system’s pH range of 2.1–12 provides users with various alkalinity options to suit their preferences. The hydrogen infusion process involves a nine-plate design, ensuring maximum H2 performance of up to 1,600 ppb.

Buder HS-72 Hydrogen Water Machine (8.2/10)
The Buder HS-72 Hydrogen Water Machine is a countertop hydrogen water generator that produces hydrogen-rich water using DuPont’s SPE-PEM membrane technology.
It is primarily a design and creation of Victory (the manufacturer) in Japan, and the internal filters are made in the Buder factory in Taiwan, where the product is assembled, boxed, stored, and made ready for international sales.
The hydrogen pumping membrane (inside the left chamber) is made by DuPont in the US, a company well known for its innovative products.
The machine’s PEM technology enriches the water with pure molecular hydrogen, reaching concentrations of up to 1,200 ppb. This technology provides users with hydrogen-rich water without residual chlorine or ozone.
The inclusion of an in-tank ion resin filter is a noteworthy feature. This filter, designed to reduce scale buildup on the electrodes, not only contributes to the low maintenance and longevity of the device but also ensures the hydrogen water is of high quality.
However, unlike the previous units we’ve looked at that have built-in filters, the Buder HS-72’s ion-filter only helps to reduce scale buildup in the system. It is in no way a substitute for an actual filter.
Therefore, the manufacturer recommends using reverse osmosis (RO) or distilled water for the hydrogen infusion process.
The system is significantly more expensive than the Piurify hydrogen generator we looked at previously, despite having less maximum hydrogen content and an inferior warranty coverage.
Also, the warranty coverage may vary depending on the seller or distributor. I recommend checking with the seller or manufacturer for specific warranty details.
For best results, purchase your unit from Alkaline Water Plus for its lifetime labor warranty and one-year parts warranty.
The Bottom Line: The Best Hydrogen Water Machine
Of all the hydrogen water machines I reviewed and tested, the Piurify Hydrogen Water Machine is my #1 recommendation thanks to its ability to infuse up to 1,300 ppb of hydrogen into your water, its large pitcher size, and its lifetime warranty.
The Piurify Hydrogenator Bottle is the best portable hydrogen machine and is a great option for high-intensity athletes, and the Tyent H2 Hybrid is a premium hydrogen/alkaline water combo that is considerably more expensive but offers some great features.
There are lots of hydrogen water machines out there, but only those on this list, and those that scored well in our rigorous testing process are really worth the money and will deliver the results you want.
